Google has released its text-to-video generation model globally. The rollout covers the UAE, Bahrain and other Middle Eastern countries. With todays release, Veo 3 is now available in all of the territories where the Gemini app is live. It’s also worth noting that, by far, Veo 3 requires a subscription; the app cannot be downloaded for free. The AI model was introduced at the Google I/O 2025 and is now making waves over the internet due to its eerily lifelike videos.
The expansion into new countries was announced in a blog post by Google. Last September, the technology behemoth had launched Veo 3 in 71 countries, such as Australia, Japan and Malaysia.
Like it is currently, those looking to access the AI model in the Middle East will require a Google AI Pro subscription. The monthly subscription for Google AI Pro is $20 (about $74, AU$27) giving access to apps such as Flow, NotebookLM Plus, and Gemini Assistant, alongside 2TB of storage for Photos, Drive, and Gmail as well as VEVO 3.
Currently, Veo 3’s landscape videos are 720p, not good enough for platforms that require portrait format, such as YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels. The head of YouTube recently said that Veo 3 videos will be soon added to YouTube Shorts. So, it’s only a matter of time until Veo 3 starts producing 9:16 vertical videos.
